OLIVER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS were called to order at 12:00 pm with Lee Husfloen present in person and Rob Schmidt and Patrick Waters present via phone.
An explanation was presented as the process in NDCC for the appointment of a vacant seat to the County Commission.
Rob Schmidt recommended opening the position of two weeks and allow for names to be submitted for consideration.
Lee Husfloen recommended appointing Blake Wilkens until the end of the year. Rob Schmidt could not agree to appointing Blake Wilkens.
Lee Husfloen then recommended appointing Bradley Dahl until the end of the year. Discussion was held on if there were issues appointing Bradley Dahl, with his name already on the ballot for the four year term.
Lee Husfloen moved and Rob Schmidt seconded the motion to appoint Bradley Dahl to the vacant Commission seat until the start of the two-year unexpired term in December. A roll call vote was held; Lee Husfloen-Aye, Rob Schmidt-Aye.
Bradley Dahl accepted the appointment.
The May 5th meeting was moved to May 12th.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:20 pm.
The next meeting of the Oliver County Commission will be at 1:00 PM, May 12th, 2026 at the Oliver County Courthouse meeting room.
