March 5th, 2025

The second Flood Plain Mitigation Hearing began at 2:00 PM. Rob Schmidt and Dave Berger were present, Lee Husfloen was absent. Also present were Patty Koapke, Flood Plain Administrator/Tax Equalization director, Alice Grinsteinner, EM and Jaden Schmidt, Auditor.

It was noted the change will be from 1 foot to 2 feet to meet federal standards. All new buildings constructed must be at the 2 feet above the flood plain. This change is to align with the federal guidelines. It was also stated that if the plan doesn’t pass, the city and county could lose their federal flood plain insurance.

Dave Berger moved and Rob Schmidt seconded the motion to approve the change from 1 foot to 2 feet in the Oliver County Flood Plain Management ordinance. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.

The hearing and meeting was adjourned at 2:06 PM.
