OLIVER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS were called to order at 2:00 pm with all members present.
Dave Berger moved and Lee Husfloen seconded the motion to approve the Local Event Raffle Permit for the Jyler Isaak Memorial Golf Tournament. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
Discussion was held on the BNI Overpass on 37th Avenue. BNI presented a revised detour for the 37th Ave project with written findings. BNI requested that the Commission rescind the rescinded motion from the January 13th meeting.
Brian Dresser, resident, approached the Commission with concerns regarding the project and presented a letter to the Commission. Discussion was held on issues with moving his road approach. The County does not have standards for road approaches nor a permitting process, but residents have come to the county for approval to build an approach previously. Brian Dresser requested an engineering study be done with county and landowner review. Mike Heger, BNI, stated BNI would take suggestions from the landowner and the Commission. The Commission requested that BNI have an approach design drawn out with the engineering firm, Moore Engineering, by the April Commission meeting. Dave Berger moved and Lee Husfloen seconded the motion to table any further action regarding the BNI Overpass Project on 37th Avenue until the April 14th meeting. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
Discussion was held on the Oliver County Community Foundation Grant. The Sheriff’s Department needs new AEDs for their vehicles and it was felt that that would be a better use of the funds than for the comprehensive plan.
Discussion was held on the weed board officer receiving a cell phone. The Sheriff’s office cell phone is not being used. Dave Berger moved and Lee Husfloen seconded the motion to approve the transfer of the Sheriff’s Office cell phone to the Weed Control Officer. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:13 pm.
The next meeting of the Oliver County Commission will be at 1:00 PM, April 14th, 2026 at the Oliver County Courthouse meeting room.
