OLIVER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS were called to order at 9:00 am with all members present.
Discussion was held on the skidsteer lease with Butler Machinery. Dave Berger moved and Rob Schmidt seconded the motion to enter in to a lease agreement with Butler Machinery for a 275 Caterpillar Compact Track Loader, including the extended warranty for 6 years for a total of $111,215.00. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
The commission moved into Executive Session to discuss a reasonably predictable lawsuit at 9:05 am.
The Executive Session was adjourned at 9:12 am.
Dave Berger moved and Rob Schmidt seconded the motion to enter into a Release & Settlement Agreement with Oliver Wind IV. A roll call vote was held: Dave Berger-Aye, Rob Schmidt-Aye, Lee Husfloen-Aye. Motion carried.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:14 am.
The next meeting of the Oliver County Commission will be at 1:00 PM, August 12th, 2025 at the Oliver County Courthouse meeting room.

OLIVER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS were called to order at 9:20 am with all members present.
Sheriff Department staffing was discussed. At the May 6th meeting, discussion was held and then approved to pursue hiring another deputy and move the department to a five-man crew.
Rob Schmidt moved and Dave Berger seconded the motion to clarify the intent of the Commission at the May 6th meeting, which was that due to the fact that the department was short-staffed with having two deputies out of service for an unknown amount of time, and that the process to hire a new deputy would take a considerable amount of time that the Commission did not intend to authorize the hiring of a fifth officer, but to rather pursue and explore that option. At the time of this meeting, there will not be a fifth officer allowed to be hired. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
Overtime pay for the officers will continue. Discussion will be held at a later date to pursue a study on moving from a 4 man department to a 5 man. The advertisement for the deputy position will be pulled.
