OLIVER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS were called to order at 3:30 pm with all members present.
Discussion was held to talk about a donation by Oliver Wind IV LLC for $250,000.
There is no requirements or stipulations, but was given with the police vehicles and skidsteer in mind, however the county can use the funds for what they see fit.
Dave Berger, Commissioner, asked State’s Attorney Patrick Waters why the check was sent to his office in Bismarck and not the Courthouse. Waters stated that the previous check was sent to him as well.
Sarah Montone, Oliver Wind IV, stated the donation is only from Oliver Wind IV, not any other NextEra project in Oliver County or future project.
Discussion was
held on the recent project. A main concern for the county and the Oliver Wind
IV project has been the roads.
There were 19 landowners present that had been waiting for compensation and reclamation. Sarah Montone, Oliver Wind IV, requested a list of the landowners so that she could help progress the issues internally.
Sarah Montone, Oliver Wind IV, stated that a donation for Shop with a Sheriff will be coming as well and that the $250,000 donation has been in the works since June.
Lee Husfloen, Commissioner, stated the county is appreciative of the donation.
With the landowner concerns and issues, statements had been made that the company should know who hasn’t been compensated, but there was agreement to sign a list if it would help. It was also requested that at the next meeting, a list with pictures showing the different damages done could be presented.
Meeting was adjourned at 3:51 pm.
The next meeting of the Oliver County Commission will be at 1:00 PM, December 30th, 2025 at the Oliver County Courthouse meeting room.
