OLIVER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS were called to order at 8:00 AM with all members present.
Blake Wilkens moved and Darrell Berger seconded the motion to approve the agenda. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
Blake Wilkens moved and Darrell Berger seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the July 6th meeting. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
Blake Wilkens moved and Darrell Berger seconded the motion to approve the following bills for payment and approve the following bills previously paid. A roll call vote was held, with Darrell Berger, Blake Wilkens and Lee Husfloen all voting aye, none opposed. Motion carried.

Linda Nelson, Deputy Auditor, gave an update on Building Insurance. Darrell Berger moved and Blake Wilkens seconded the motion to increase the building insurance coverage. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
Weed growth in the sidewalk cracks were discussed. S&M Lawn Service will be contacted to come and spray.
Darrell Berger moved and Blake Wilkens seconded the motion to move the next Commission date to September 5th from September 7th. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
Lauren Eggers approached the Commissioners on purchasing the Young lot that was foreclosed and is now in county possession. Darrell Berger moved and Blake Wilkens seconded the motion to sell the lot to Lauren Eggers for the amount of 196.31. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
Brian Dresser spoke to the Commission about plans to repurpose some land north of Center into an RV Park. Nothing has been finalized but the process with Planning & Zoning are in the works.
Doug Scheetz, BNI, discussed updates to BNI Projects. Discussion was held on current challenge of adding land and developing new mining areas. There is a revision in to the NDPSC for a road crossing on 37th Ave. Federal Coal has been approved.
Kyle Miller discussed road issues. Jim Jackson, Moore Engineering, was also present to discuss bridge project updates.
Darrell Berger moved and Blake Wilkens seconded the motion to approve the contract for Moore Engineering for plans to improve the bridge, when the contract is approved by NDDOT. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
Kyle Miller informed the Commissioners that BNI will help pay for the road striping on 36th Ave. Discussion was held on repaving the 36th Ave. Jim Jackson will look into estimate costs.
John Wicklund, Land Use Administrator, presented the commission with Building Permit #1015 for Jeff Goetz for a 26x40 addition to house in SE ¼ of Section 21-142-86. Blake Wilkens moved and Darrell Berger seconded the motion to approve Building Permit #1015. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
The Kelly Maas fence issue was discussed. Mr. Maas spoke with Lee Husfloen about moving the fence. He has not had time due to haying, but does have plans to move it.
The meeting adjourned at 10:20 AM.
The next meeting of the Oliver County Commission will be at 8:00 AM, Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at the Oliver County Courthouse meeting room.
