June 4, 2020 Tax Equalization

JUNE 4, 2020 OLIVER COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION convened at 11:00 A.M. Patricia Koapke, Tax Director, Lee Husfloen, Chairman, Darrell Berger, Vice-Chairman, Blake Wilkens, Commissioner, Judith Hintz, Auditor, and Jarann Johnson, Center Republican were in attendance.

     Patricia Koapke, Tax Director, presented Parcel#20135000 and explained the valuation should be removed from the house. Darrell Berger moved and Blake Wilkens seconded the motion to remove the valuation of the house from Parcel $20135000. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.

     Patricia Koapke, Tax Director, explained the residential increase has an average of 2.130% as a whole; not necessarily each individual parcel; depending on condition, age, style of home; increase/decrease may/may not have been made. Darrell Berger moved and Blake Wilkens seconded the motion to approve the 2.139% average on residential valuations. On roll call vote the following voted “Aye”: Lee Husfloen, Darrell Berger and Blake Wilkens. None voted “Nay”. Motion carried.

     Patricia Koapke, Tax Director, discussed increasing the ag valuation to be compliant with the state requirements. Blake Wilkens moved and Darrell Berger seconded the motion to increase Ag valuation by 3.216% with commercial valuations remaining the same as 2019. On roll call vote the following voted “Aye”: Lee Husfloen, Darrell Berger and Blake Wilkens. None voted “Nay”. Motion carried.

     Blake Wilkens moved and Darrell Berger seconded the motion to adjourn. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 11:29 A.M.
