OLIVER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS were called to order at 10:38 AM with all members present.

Rob Schmidt moved and Dave Berger seconded the motion to approve the agenda. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.

Dave Berger moved and Rob Schmidt seconded the motion to appoint Darrell Berger as interim Road Superintendent until a permanent Road Superintendent is hired. The motion was amended to include at the wage of $32.26 per hour wage at a temp status with no benefits.

Discussion was held on the motion. With concerns on hiring and firing of workers, the concerns must be brought to HR and the portfolio holder before any action is taken. The Commission has found that the state of the road department requires immediate appointment of this position. A roll call vote was held: Dave Berger-Aye, Rob Schmidt-Aye, Lee Husfloen-Aye. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.

Discussion was held on fire extinguishers that had been missing at the county shop. HR and the Sheriff’s Department will look into this.

Two fuel tanks are located at Kyle Miller’s and Ben Gerving’s. The county owns the tanks and they will need to be moved back to the county shop due to liability concerns. Rob Schmidt will look into a fuel tank trailer for purchase and bring information to the next meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 AM.

The next meeting of the Oliver County Commission will be at 1:00 PM, February 10th, 2025 at the Oliver County Courthouse meeting room.
