OLIVER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS were called to order at 2:30 PM with all members present.
The Auditor’s office was made aware that the NDPERS Health Insurance contract that has been in place since 1999 has been in violation. This is due to the fact that Oliver County had been paying employees that did not opt to receive health insurance through the county an incentive.
The Commissioners were made aware that should the incentive continue, NDPERS could potentially terminate the contract with the county, thereby causing employees to lose their health insurance coverage.
Blake Wilkens moved and Lee Husfloen seconded the motion to discontinue the Health Insurance Incentive being paid to employees. A roll call vote was held: Blake Wilkens-Aye, Lee Huslfoend-Aye, Darrell Berger-Aye. The motion carried.
Patrick Waters, State’s Attorney, will write and send a letter to the eight affected employees explaining the situation.
Jaden Schmidt, Auditor, discussion the Liberty Business Printer Contract the county has. A rep from Liberty came to the county a week ago to look over the machines under the contract. It was discovered that more service was being done to the printers the county currently has and it is very inefficient. A quote was received from Liberty to swap machines to new ones in all offices affected.
Lee Husfloen moved and Blake Wilkens seconded the motion to approve the quote from Liberty Business for new printers. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 2:44 PM.
The next meeting of the Oliver County Commission will be at 8:00 AM, Thursday, September 5th, 2024 at the Oliver County Courthouse meeting room.
