OLIVER COUNTY PLANNING & ZONING Commission was called to order at 7:05 pm.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Roll Call was held. Members present were Bill Breimeier, Adam Vaughn, Linda Nelson, Randy Schmidt, Lonnie Henke and Cassie Smith. Others present were Jaden Schmidt, Secretary/P&Z, Patty Koapke, P&Z.

Bill Breimeier moved and Linda Nelson seconded to approve the agenda. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried. 

Jaden Schmidt took over as temporary chair to open the floor for nominations for Chair. Linda Nelson nominated Lonnie Henke, with a second by Randy Schmidt. Bill Breimeier moved and Adam Vaughn seconded the motion to cast a unanimous ballot for Lonnie Henke as chair. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.

Lonnie Henke assumed the duties of chair. Nominations were opened for vice chair. Adam Vaughn nominated Randy Schmidt. Randy Schmidt declined. Randy Schmidt nominated Bill Breimeier with a second by Adam Vaughn. Cassie Smith moved and Linda Nelson seconded the motion to cast a unanimous ballot for Bill Breimeier as Vice Chair. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.

Building Permit #1042 for Hi Plains Building Division/NextEra for an Office & Maintenance Building was presented. Bill Breimeier moved and Adam Vaughn seconded the motion to approve Building Permit #1042. A roll call vote was held: Bill Breimeier-Aye, Linda Nelson-Aye, Randy Schmidt-Aye, Adam Vaughn-Aye, Cassie Smith-Aye. The permit was approved.

Building Permit #1043 for Josh Metz for a garage was presented. Randy Schmidt moved and Adam Vaughn seconded the motion to approve Building Permit #1043. A roll call vote was held: Bill Breimeier-Aye, Linda Nelson-Aye, Randy Schmidt-Aye, Adam Vaughn-Aye, Cassie Smith-Aye. The permit was approved.

Building Permit #1044 for Casey Blohm for a home was presented. Cassie Smith moved and Bill Breimeier seconded the motion to approve Building Permit #1044. A roll call vote was held: Bill Breimeier-Aye, Linda Nelson-Aye, Randy Schmidt-Aye, Adam Vaughn-Aye, Cassie Smith-Aye. The permit was approved.

Linda Nelson moved and Randy Schmidt seconded the motion to approve the minutes from the July 25th, 2024 meeting. All in favor, none opposed; motion carried.

Discussion was held on revision of the Industrial Building Permit fee. Linda Nelson moved and Randy Schmidt seconded the motion to change the Industrial Building Permit fee to .001 times the total cost of the project. A roll call vote was held: Bill Breimeier-Aye, Linda Nelson-Aye, Randy Schmidt-Aye, Adam Vaughn-Aye, Cassie Smith-Aye. The fee revision was approved.

The next meeting for the Oliver County Planning & Zoning Board will be August 22nd at 7:00 pm in the Oliver County Courthouse Meeting Room.
