The Planning and Zoning Division regulates land uses of Oliver County to ensure the development happens in accordance with the goals, objectives, and policies set forth by Oliver County.
OLIVER COUNTY PLANNING AND ZONING MEETINGS
These meeting schedules are dependent upon permit applications. Applications must be received in a time frame that allows public notice in the Official County News Paper (THE CENTER REPUBLICAN) in accordance with N.D.C.C. § 11-33-08, which is cited below:
“11-33-08. Hearings. After the filing of the proposed resolution, the county planning commission shall hold a public hearing thereon, at which the proposed resolution shall be submitted for discussion, and parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard. Notice of the time, place, and purpose of the hearing shall be published once each week for two consecutive weeks in the official newspaper of the county, and in such other newspapers published in the county as the county planning commission may deem necessary. Said notice shall describe the nature, scope, and purpose of the proposed resolution, and shall state the times at which it will be available to the public for inspection and copying at the office of the county auditor.”
PLEASE NOTE: Buildings without a variance do not require a public hearing and are issued by the Planning and Zoning Board upon approval by the Oliver County Board of County Commissioners.
Meetings are tentatively scheduled for the last Thursday of each month with the exception of November and December as they are scheduled ahead because of the holidays. All meeting dates listed below have been approved by the Planning and Zoning Board on March 27, 2025.
